How We Got Here

1997

A group of Christians, primarily from First Baptist Church in La Grange, held Bible Study Meetings in Round Top, Texas. They soon rented space on the town square by FM 237. The church was formed and named Round Top Baptist Church. Without a full-time pastor, guest speakers preached each Sunday. During this period, the church was gifted funds specifically for the purpose of purchasing land and building a church building. Using this gift, 1.5 acres were purchased at the current site located at 440 E. Mill Street.

1999

A full-time pastor, Matthew Diehl, was called. Shortly after Pastor Diehl came, the congregation voted to change the name to Round Top Church Christian Fellowship. This name change allowed the church to reach all Christians regardless of denomination. The Fellowship grew by way of Believers who were new to the area. The Fellowship proved to be a place of Worship for like-minded Christians.

2000

The church purchased an additional half-acre of land adjacent to the backside of the original property, creating a building site of 2 acres. Round Top Church began a building program resulting in a multi-functional community building. Within one year, the building was paid-in-full, and the congregation was debt-free.

2001

Veronica Skaggs, current Children’s Ministry Director, took on the role of Children’s Sunday school teacher.

2002

The current church building project was completed.

2006

The church team began a Vacation Bible School program.

2008

The ‘Stand Out’ program began. Today, some of the children who attended the program have become tutors and the support staff of this ministry.

2010

The Fellowship purchased 2.5 acres next to the existing site.

2017

The church sought a new improvement; an addition to the back of the building for covered handicap parking and recreational space was completed. The addition was paid in cash, and the Fellowship continues to remain debt-free.

2017

The ‘Sew and Sew’ Ministry was officially added. Talented women from the Fellowship and others from the community participate.

2020

The church created a YouTube channel to share uplifting messages and answer questions about the past week’s sermon.

2021 & Beyond
